Apply for a Land Use Authorization through the County Planning & Building Department – $400 (inland zone) or $615 (coastal zone); if a Minor Use Permit is required, expect to pay a much higher fee. All are one-time fees and roll over to new property owners.
Apply for a County Business License and Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) Certificate through the County Tax Collector – $49/yr.
The entire process can take 3-6 months.
